It's a bit of a double edged sword.

I gave WhatsApp a storage scope but I found that I would cross post images and I found a fair workaround: you can share an image from the filesystem and GIVE WhatsApp the file from outside its storage scope.

I think there might have been more points of friction, but whatever.

I guess this is a UX improvement without security downside.

Storage scopes only apply for the case where an app requests the file.

But it doesn't apply for when the filesystem shares a file with an app.

Makes sense to me.

Yeah, I was just expressing that it was a behavioural change I had to make.
