lol it's not really a paradox though, just an infinite sum -- it does expose some flaws in the real number system used by mathematicians, though, if you dig further -- such as 0.999. reccurring = 1, which makes no sense, of course.

The paradox illustrates that man can rationalize a mathematical proof for things that are clearly mathematically wrong.

Yes, pretty much. Although mathematical proofs are logical productions from the axioms. Or Peano Kernels in some cases. People tend not to question the axioms. Having said, that mathematics is about as close as humans have come to being able to prove things with confidence and verifiability. Finite groups tendto be OK, as is used in bitcoin, because 2+2=4 always on the integers (but not reals) in non-orwellian worlds. So bitcoin is fairly sound since there's a lot of integer maths and for that you just need 1 + 2 == 2 + 1 == 3, and so on. But people will beleive anything these days, even on nostr, especially on nostr. Dont trust, verify!
