Have any of my friends here noticed the staggering decline in the quality versus cost in the steel in shaving razors over the last 10 years?

I don’t need a triple or quad blade piece of crap that lasts half a shave. I need one blade that does the job.

Has anyone made the old school switch to just using a straight razor? Seriously considering it. Shaving products are so fiat nowadays.

I have a straight razer but I don't use it any more. they do a WAY better job.

I've had 1-3 mm scruff and a moustache for a long time, which is the only reason I'm not using one.

if I go clean shaven again I'll go back to it. they do have a learning curve and require maintenance and care but that's part of the fun.

I looked into it. I learned that there's a region in Germany known for their generations of blade making where many quality brands come from.

For the record, the triple-blade that I've been using for years just had the white part of the "blue strip" finally degrade. Fuck their profits! 🤣

I seriously get 2 shaves out of most disposables now. After that it feels like I’m pulling every hair out. And not even close to smooth. I’m getting a straight razor I think

Become a beard dude. Same some sats.

Took that step already a few months back. Just keeping the neck clean front and back now. But man these razors dull quickly.
