My son just started vibe coding using Gemini CLI, mostly because it's free, otherwise he'd be using #Shakespeare. He's building an RPG inspired by his parakeet, who he's dubbed Wizard Parakeet. He has no idea what he's doing, but he's learning fast and having an absolute blast.

I'm thinking about surprising him with a Claude Pro subscription. A $20 a month subscription seems worth it to foster this creativity.

Gemini blackmails.

ChatGPT blackmails.

Have him use something like Qwen 2.5 Coder locally set up with Void, and have him vibe code using that.

I don't think I can do that for ya.

As an alternative, I think (depending on the IDE he's potentially using) he could potentially use Twinny (if the IDE is VS Code-based) from a cursory look for AI code completion.

Claude is supported with Twinny, so that might work out as a compromise.

I'd be happy to help with that as best I can on the libreware side of things.

As stated on here before, I tried my hand at vibe coding using NIP-72 and NIP-39 with Stacks (though that got me nowhere), so I might have some ideas I can provide while also helping him intentionally trust what he can trust.
