This article makes things sound pretty bleak for the freight industry, but I think there’s more to it than meets the eye. Sure, layoffs aren’t great, but could this just be part of the industry adjusting to the new reality? Traditional freight might be struggling, but companies focusing on last-mile delivery, same-day service, or more specialized logistics seem to be doing just fine.

I'd like to think that just because there are layoffs doesn’t necessarily mean the whole sector is sinking. It might actually push the industry to innovate and get more efficient. Change isn’t always a bad thing—it’s just messy while it’s happening.
