last time i clicked a link to tidal i got the signin page...very much felt like every other FB, twitter, NYT -like experience.

Not sure what you are expecting, Tidal is a paid music service like Spotify and Apple Music?
an experience better then just the rest of the crowd.
it can still be a paid app. ie nostr build is paid app.
signup can be made easier for those just wanting to use npub... & voluntarily a user can opt to provide email in addition to their npub. and ofcourse maybe provide flexibility to those that only want to use email.
im sick of using any other new platform or service where they notonluy already get my metadata (what i click on, what i like/buy/etc, ip address, etc) but also my cc data, my address, my email, my name, etc etc
sorry for the rant but im done with all new services that are like rest of the crowd. i will await for more of "the web 5" we are seeing with services recently (mostly around nostr)
Oh i am with you... i thought you were expecting Tidal to already be that. Why shouldn't a music service be anonymous (no data collection tied back to my identity). I'd love to see much more direct payments to artists. Tidal announced this but I heard that the payments are not going to artists yet even though they say they are.
