Ugh makes me want to switch to Tidal, sadly the library is like 2x smaller than YT, and I have problems with YT library size :(

The thing I can’t live without (which Apple Music has) is syncing my own music (eg vinyl rips) into my shared “cloud” library, so it’s available on all my devices, otherwise I’d be ripe to switch too!

Yea, I mean part of it is folks uploading their rips of vinyl-only stuff to YT, but even the official library size is (IIRC) about 2x any other service. For old house tracks or remixes that makes a difference.
Then again I also dumped YT for self hosted due to the library size 🤷♂️
Yt music is terrible. Tidal is a nice addition to self hosted
YT music has always been buggy garbage, but it’s just another frontend to YT, all the YT Music content is just Videos on YT under the hood. If I’m honest I just rip them and put them on my server…at least when I can’t find it anywhere else.

last time i clicked a link to tidal i got the signin page...very much felt like every other FB, twitter, NYT -like experience.
Not sure what you are expecting, Tidal is a paid music service like Spotify and Apple Music?
an experience better then just the rest of the crowd.
it can still be a paid app. ie nostr build is paid app.
signup can be made easier for those just wanting to use npub... & voluntarily a user can opt to provide email in addition to their npub. and ofcourse maybe provide flexibility to those that only want to use email.
im sick of using any other new platform or service where they notonluy already get my metadata (what i click on, what i like/buy/etc, ip address, etc) but also my cc data, my address, my email, my name, etc etc
sorry for the rant but im done with all new services that are like rest of the crowd. i will await for more of "the web 5" we are seeing with services recently (mostly around nostr)
Oh i am with you... i thought you were expecting Tidal to already be that. Why shouldn't a music service be anonymous (no data collection tied back to my identity). I'd love to see much more direct payments to artists. Tidal announced this but I heard that the payments are not going to artists yet even though they say they are.
I hope you can get Tidal to do more! More direct payment to artists with Lightning!!
