Ah. So, it’s just broadcasting selected tracks from a chosen playlist. You can’t stream a set, as a DJ, unless you played a prerecorded mix. Is that correct?

Truly critical feature IMO. Remember radio DJs before corporate playlists? The artist-DJ-fan-music-lover-buyer relationship was synergistic. This needs to happen again in our open source digital future. Why? Rewards go to the most talented, dedicated, and inspired musicians *and* curators! All need to get the right balance of sats the the satospheric economy.

You know exactly what you want, as a creator, what’s needed, but been shelving dope ideas since 2020 August. Let’s blame outside forces this time, too.

Remember: “slowly, then all at once?” Well, slow died, so it’s ‘all at once’ time.

Ugh makes me want to switch to Tidal, sadly the library is like 2x smaller than YT, and I have problems with YT library size :(

The thing I can’t live without (which Apple Music has) is syncing my own music (eg vinyl rips) into my shared “cloud” library, so it’s available on all my devices, otherwise I’d be ripe to switch too!

Yea, I mean part of it is folks uploading their rips of vinyl-only stuff to YT, but even the official library size is (IIRC) about 2x any other service. For old house tracks or remixes that makes a difference.

Then again I also dumped YT for self hosted due to the library size 🤷‍♂️

YT music has always been buggy garbage, but it’s just another frontend to YT, all the YT Music content is just Videos on YT under the hood. If I’m honest I just rip them and put them on my server…at least when I can’t find it anywhere else.
