yeah, the banning of nostr had a definitely factor in my decision to check it out

at best a few blogs attached to shit like bluesky talk about us and that's all the press we get

even at my job they really don't see it as having much relevance to anything, our job is literally plugging away at building some little pond of a social network attached to blockchain projects, though my boss knows about it and i connected to the boss via a nostr user

we really live in some kind of parallel universe in here, we see things that the rest of them out there still can't see even though it's right in their faces every day

bitcoin slowly crept up on everyone and now still even mostly it's only coming up in combination with heavily marketed shitcoin projects, yet it has literally over 2/3 of the market value

i mean, the distortion is really really obvious, but nope, normies don't see it, this is normal clown world for them

the "profit model" is the same as it has been for mass media for over 100 years - the customer is advertisers and financiers bent on manipulating people's minds to enlarge their bottom line

all of the little things that eventually got so popular they made a fake version are part of the fight against this pattern, the folk music of the 60s and 70s, punk music of 70s and 80s, techno 80s and 90s, industrial 90s-00s, all musical forms of this, the technology, BBS, IRC, forums, uunet, RSS, email lists, nostr is part of this path of evolution of defenses against The Produkt

and yeah, the attack vector that is crystallizing, as i see it, is turning this protocol into a toolchain for building data systems that take back sovereignty for companies productivity stacks, and lowering the cost of rolling out bespoke social network platforms
