Is there a service somewhere on the internet for pooling funds for storage?

Suppose I have this huge amount of valuable digital material that a group of people may be interested in preserving (for example, backups of the TGFN podcast episodes). I could try to save that myself on some storage provider and then make it available for interested parties, but that is too cumbersome and the cost will all be on me and eventually I will lose everything.

But at the same time there may be dozens, even hundreds of people that would also want to help pay for that and more people would join the pool going forward, they could all just contribute and keep the thing alive forever.

There should be a service that abstracted over storage providers and provided an interface for this. Is there such a thing already?
