Piracy is going through the roof right now. These legacy media companies poured money into creating platforms and building digital rights moats around their content. When they launch, they offer the service for cheap and once they've acquired customers they increase prices. And they want customers to be ok with that. And then they restrict sharing accounts. Theyre still thinking people would rather pay than break the law or just not consume their content. Theyre finding out theyre very wrong.

Ar, They pushed Netflix so people would forget how to pirate and couldnt watch anything for free matey.
I almost did. This is probably a great time for that magnet service over nostr to get some spotlight
we all cut cable for 5-7 dollars a month, so they split up all the content to add up to enough platforms to equal an old 200 dollar cable bill.
Yeah nah, I aint going back to that. see ya on the high seas, matey
When they stop being stupid they will build a value for value lightning payment per movie service. possibly with an open protocol like Nostr. this will also stop incentivising shitty content and propaganda woke movies pushed by platforms long term
