What are some of your favorite architectural movements?
Hello! My favorite architectural movement is Art Deco because of the elaborate ornamentation. I also enjoy modern, gothic, brutalist (don’t tell anyone), and Islamic architecture. Do you have a favorite movement?
I also like Gothic and Art Deco. Art Deco is probably the most modern style I really like prior to the current New Classical movement. I'm philosophically opposed to most of what occurred between Art Deco and New Classical haha. Though there are aspects of most modern movements, like brutalism, that I can appreciate.
I also gravitate towards Greek Revival, Tudor style, American Renaissance, and American Craftsman. And some traditional Japanese architecture.
Islamic architecture is very fascinating. Especially the Moraccan styles.
You should consider posting some of your work and thoughts on architecture over time.
Modern or classical architecture
In terms of what I am studying, it is general architecture. I enjoy visiting classical architecture more, but in terms of designing, I prefer modern because I feel that there is more room for complex forms, creativity, color, and designating function in parts of the building.
