Bitcoin is and was about creating a money that the government cannot debase, confiscate, or censor. And Bitcoin did that. It does not protect you from taxes, government violence, incarceration, imminent domain, or regulation.

If you think Bitcoin is going to save you from your government taxing you, then you are mistaken about what Bitcoin is and does. Bitcoin cannot protect you from the government kicking in your door and putting you in a cage for the rest of your life. No clue where you got the idea that it could.

Bitcoin does indeed separate government and money, taking money out of the control of government. But that does not mean the government is powerless to visit violence upon you.
