Has anybody understood why Milei was invited to Davos? Did they expect anything different from him? How is he a "friend of Klaus Schwab" or was that just a false claim by a random podcaster I heard? Or was the speech in some Machiavellian sense part of WEF's strategy?
Discussion
I think we give *way* too much credit to the idea that the WEF is a single actor with a single agenda, rather than a giant group of people who like to feel powerful and important, and are all vying to be more influential and get their agenda seen at a huge event.
The paranoia sometimes is overboard, imo. I would say the only thing important to look at is what Miles is doing in Argentina. So far I’ve heard he has actually moved to shut down numerous wasteful govt agencies, laid off a large portion of govt employees, deregulated real estate which caused a surge in availability, and I’ve only casually kept up with it. I say actions speak louder than words. If you have seen him, or he starts doing awful statist things, then I’d be suspicious, but turning every thing into a 4D and 5D chess move of some cabal of power that’s somehow always in perfect consensus just seems to get in the way as often as not.
Perhaps it's his Judo strategy - this martial art uses the opponent's strength and movements against them. This was Japan’s strategy post WW2, esp in the 70’s / 80’s
What's the fascination many bitcoiners have with weird populist politicians like 🇺🇸 Trump, 🇦🇷 Milei, 🇳🇱 Baudet, and countless others?
Most often I hear: BuT hE iS a BiTcOiNeR!!!! hE WiLL mAkE pRiCe gO mOoN!!!
Who cares? Bitcoiners should believe in themselves instead of following false prophets. (or weird dietary advice for that matter)

There’s a Freedom correlation.
Freedom in my opinion means fewer politicians and an end to nation states. #politicsisforpuppets
National integrity is definitely important. Less government corruption and control is good, but borders are also important. Look at the shit show going on in the US and Canada right now. Actually all over Europe too. Migration is out of control. Strong national leadership is what the world needs, but true representation, not corrupt puppets controlled by globalist agendas, corporate interests and bankers.
Borders are one of the main causes of this in my opinion. 😉
Add Bukele to that list ;)
I always thought that personal responsibility will never win a public vote against collectivists as the latter by definition are better at rallying for a common cause, so yes, Milei winning fascinates me.
All successful politicians are most likely psychopaths and would kill to have things their way so no, I don't trust any of them but Milei in this case got a lot of attention sharing values I highly appreciate. I don't love the messenger but I sure do love the message.
You just got a follow my friend
Never trust a politician.
Its an act. Read the transcript instead of watching performance. It reads like Ayn Rand at a John Gault convention. He is going to sacrifice Argentina to the almighty USD. He is not ur fren.
The speech put a spotlight on Milei. The direction of the effect depends on the perception of the future of Argentina. Maybe the WEF believes it will fail. Or that journalists will focus on people that are worse of now and missed opportunities to grep money from international sources.
