You should have a choice on your algo. Or none at all.

But it should be a choice and there should be many.

Open source user/community generated algos controlled by preference sliders would be cool if they came with periodic reminders to reset or refresh your filter bubble. Maybe I’m naive but I believe conscious use of open source filtering/sorting tools (aka algos) can still be useful in some cases.
