Nostr only vlogging is overrated, and to be frank, those who scream and shout about it have massive YouTube audiences and hundreds of videos on platforms other than Nostr. The correct path, I reckon, is YouTube clips as adverts, but Nostr for 'the whole thing'. This way you bring people to Nostr. I will be uploading entire lessons to Nostr in a week, when I'm back from my holiday.

Yeah the whole nostr-only thing doesn't convince me either. I think I heard about some of these alt-social platforms via people who mention them on mainstream social media.
Eg at the end of a talk on YouTube someone will mention 'join the discussion on our matrix server'.
You have to take what big accounts here say with a pinch of salt, they're mostly from bitcointwitter so their audience is either partly on nostror mostly here or definitely know about nostr. The rest of the world (and the rest of twitter) have barely even heard of Nostr.

I don't think I this is the main reason people haven't heard of Nostr tho. It's just very small, very niche and has barely any marketing (in all the forms, even worse of mouth - again with the exception of the bitcointwitter silo)

Surprisingly the same thing doesn't happen on YouTube. At least for me. So far.
My channel had about 200 views in a year and then I posted a video about nostr and it got over 500 in a few days
can't let the sheep know the grass is greener on the other side of the ugly grey brick wall of the feedlot where they get to eat a nonstop diet of barley grains. hell, can't let them learn about the grass.
Nostr is overrated period. Full of Agent Smiths with no integrity. Straight up honeypot
