in Tokyo the streets are remarkably clean and I can’t find a trash can anywhere

in SF there’s a trash can on every corner yet the streets are filthy

The Japanese are the most conscientious people I have ever had the pleasure of visiting.

Massive city, no trash, no theft, everyone is extremely polite, very high quality products. I want to go back.

i also love the apparent food philosophy which i would best describe as “a little bit of whatever you might want”

Yes absolutely. And having pictures of every item on the menu should be a global standard.
