I haven't run Haven relay yet but it seems from browsing the docs, its not "more difficult" but just more configuration steps, actually its pretty close to just running your own lightning node or lnbits server.

should be easy for just someone who's comfortable sysadmini'ing 😉

If you can run your own node, Haven should be no problem 🫡 I've helped people with minimal Linux experience set it up on a VPS, it's doable.

sounds good! does it allow for a protected list of npubs to access the relay? i assume this is what the WoT is....
