Can't wait to know more about your views on it.

I’ll come back to this thread to let you know.

I’m slowly making my way through your write-up. Here are just a few thoughts after reading the first chapter:

I liked how you began the project with a field study and took the time to directly observe people using the app in their daily activities. This approach also built trust because it gave you guys the opportunity to simultaneously educate people about bitcoin and address misconceptions.

The section providing context about Brazil’s economic landscape helped me better understand the rationale behind your study design.

I like the idea of a collaborative document for people to share their constructive feedback before final publication. Open peer-review should be the standard in research. This also ties in with the project’s emphasis on direct collaboration with users. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to participate in your creative process.

It will be interesting to compare your study to the research published on bitcoin adoption in El Salvador.

This is the papers that I found:

I plan to read them after making my way through your study.

However, the abstract suggests that Pix was more successful than Chivo Wallet. From news articles, my initial theory is that the El Salvadoran government overestimated the impact financial incentives would have on bitcoin adoption and neglected more grassroots efforts to build trust and educate its citizens. I could be wrong though.

Finally, sorry for your loss.
