Perhaps faith/belief, rather than solely suppressing barbarism, also opens up avenues to greater good than would be possible for people without belief. Replace cynicism with hope and it really changes how the world looks.

I don’t think it’s cynicism but rather a realistic take on how humans have behaved. History has a way of recycling itself however long humans have existed. Many in ashes have hoped before us.

Granted what can seem cynical is often just realistic. Yet, what could we do without hope in the possibility of something better?

Hope works in small scale and short terms. Reduce your world to what you can control.

that's why i scaled my goals down to little tidbits that i can finish with in month time windows and i've got my begging bowl out to be able to keep going with this downscaled work, while keeping my architecture and mind as big as it can be.

all the little things add up to become a big thing if you can see the big picture.

this approach is giving me serenity and strength.
