Just went through @ralf (untagged) follows list and restored some, but I am sure I lost a ton. Fuck!!! This is some of the worst things about testing with your own account! 🐶🐾😭😭😭

How many followers you had before?
Not followers, but people I follow. Around 850 +/- 30 🐶🐾🫡
I think you should use nostrgram follow list restore before, then we will rebroadcast those events to all the relays. Just make sure we are broadcasting the accurate events.
Just login to nostrgram.co you can also use extension. Go to profile click on calendar like icon and you can restore following from any date like time machine
Once you are done then use this website to broadcast/update those events across all the major relays. By the way this will also increase your discoverability and data availability across relays.
Let me know if it's solves the problem, otherwise we will explore some other ways.
Last backup is too old, so no good. And I have a relay that can rebroadcast events to all online relays, so I am good on that front. 🐶🐾🫡
Now it's started making sense, that broadcasting relay has broadcasted your incorrect events to all the existing relays. It's same everywhere. Maybe some relay operator can help you. They can solve this very easily.

I had over 2400 follows (most stolen from follow alls) but curated for months to reduce noise. I lost all but 700 trying plebstr.

Yeah. A lot of the accounts were inactive, but I think I lost connection that would have been useful once nostr gains traction and they come back. Having a network of people who can get into an idea early is priceless. Anyway, I put it down to being early and have done my best to refollow quality accounts. It is an area of nostr that needs to be more user friendly.
Sorry to hear that😟 Just to be clear so I can fix an issue. You logged in to our app, did the follow all action and lost 700 accounts that you follow with that? Am I right? 😊
I had followed all previously to gain that many follows. After logging in the number went down, enen when I switched back to amethyst
Hey sorry this happened 😞 I have put some effort into making sure it fetches your latest follow list at start and keeps it recent, I will have to investigate in what situation this still happens, I thought it had been fixed before because I haven't heard of this issue in a while since the last fix.
I'm guessing there was still an issue fetching your latest list, and then when you follow someone new it adds it to the last known older list. I'll probably disable the Follow button unless its 100% sure a follow list has been fetched.
Nostur keeps a local copy of your followers so you can restore them if another client publishes an older list, unfortunately this only works when Nostur is your main client and not the other way around.
I hope you still keep trying Nostur, but I can understand if you don't want to.
Sorry, I just was very upset and don’t mean to shut you down. I totally understand that bugs happen and things break. I of course will continue trying Nostur out, especially that awesome animation you have for zaps. I’ll take more precautions next time.
To help with troubleshooting, I didn’t actually follow anyone when I tried, it just happened to ask me that 9 contacts were missing and asked if I wanted to add them. I think I clicked OK button, when I meant to dismiss it. The install was fresh, because I had it deleted and installed from TestFlight for testing. 🐶🐾🫡🫂💜

I noticed the same thing, few days ago I had around 800 people following, today I'm having 600 and something. I didn't use another client..this is the third time happening to me .
