Nostr(and Ave) hahaha. Great catch!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nostrand_Avenue

"It is named after Gerret Noorstrandt whose family was one of the first families that settled in New Utrecht, Brooklyn, when New York was still a Dutch colony. Between 1790 and 1820, the Nostrand family owned approximately 43 enslaved people.”

Well, that took a dark turn. But it partially redeems itself later on.

"In 2004, the 200th anniversary of Haiti's independence, Nostrand Avenue was co-named Toussaint Louverture Boulevard in honor of the Haitian revolutionary Toussaint Louverture (1743 – 1803).”

WOW. NY has so much history that I don’t know 🀯 This was the last thing I was expecting to learn
