I bought one of those refurbished Lenovo Mini PCs to use as a home server for things like that. So long as it's multicore, it can run lots of different services. I still haven't migrated everything I wanted to set up on mine yet.

And I have a separate nice pc with a good gpu to play with the things that need it. Things like solidworks and davinci and 3d printing are why I still keep a dual boot windows install handy.

Sounds like a great idea to me! I would love to do this, it seems like a no brainer if you have the capabilities and funds (which both hold me back currently 😂) But I want to get there hopefully within the next 1-3 yrs. Keep us posted how it goes if you end up pulling the trigger!

This made me think of another set up I heard today. While I was shoveling snow, I was listening to nostr:npub1s5yq6wadwrxde4lhfs56gn64hwzuhnfa6r9mj476r5s4hkunzgzqrs6q7z’s podcast Bitcoin Fundamentals and he had a fella with a full HVAC and water heater system set up, running off the energy produced by the Bitcoin mining set up he had! Sounded absolutely genius. I would love to do your idea AND that set up eventually. Maybe eventually be the crazy guy who turns his entire garage into a full BTC workhouse 😂 with PC’s and basics and oil heating pipe and fans running all over the place 😂😂

Yea he started a company called Nakamoto Heating Solutions 😂 LOVE IT!
