This might be a can of worms, but could you explain Christian Orthodoxy?
haha, so from your particular worldview, you'd find it similar in the emphasis on asceticism. It's the most consistent Christian tradition to the first century church. I find that Orthodoxy is more focused on how the individual lives than articulating dogmatic progressive philosophy like the western church. Of course, as with all Christian groups, Jesus is the God-man who redeemed all of mankind and provided them a way of living and a hope to become partakers of the divine.
In that case I'm like Orthodox Hindu, even though that term is probably completely captured in India. The actions of the individual and a focus on righteousness and proper action is at the core of Hinduism for me. I didn't grow up in India, so I don't know what all the different branches are like, but man let me tell you that most Hindus you meet don't value that foundation.
I can't say i'm orthodox but i do respect the orthodox at a higher degree than most other forms of Christianity, I tend to follow most of the orthodox ideas when it comes to faith as well. I can't say I'm orthodox because i haven't been to a church and taken part in the liturgy or anything or went through the steps of becoming orthodox
it's worth it fren, my first experience was a vespers service on Saturday evening. I know you have an interesting sleep schedule, so maybe a 6pm Saturday service might work π€£
There isn't a church close to me at all lol
Well, I definitely don't want you to dox yourself on here, but here is the resource I used to locate one I now go to.

They are definitely more spread out than your typical renovated liquor store evangelical church π
I've looked on there before and there aren't any close enough to me sadly.
I believe it. I was in TN at one point trying to find one, and the closest one was 1.5 hours away. The one I go to now is about 30-40 min drive. There are a few closer, but I opted for OCA as I can actually understand what they are saying π
Iβm Coptic Orthodox. Most people donβt realize that Egypt was mostly Christian at one point. They still comprise about 10% of the population and there are a ton of ancient monasteries and churches there, some dating from the first and second centuries.
Not a surfer though. Would love to learn how to surf one day π
