I am sometimes fairly slack on wearing gloves for gardening but I am not for this plant as it's one of the most poisonous in UK gardens
There have even been very rare cases of people cutting this down not taking precautions eating their lunch and dieing because they ingested the poison. So yeah... be careful with monkshood

😳 I've definitely not washed my hands after cutting monk's hood and before eating.
Ok I checked it again seems in the end he died from it getting in a cut which is worse in someways because it's way more likely. I think when I first read that story it said he collapsed after lunch so maybe hadn't worked it out yet.
I am not going to risk it either way!
