Our storage unit was broken into last night. We live in a suburban “safe” area and the facility has 2 sets of gates to go through, plus a finger pad to enter the building. Surveillance video shows three masked intruders wearing all black. All they got were boxes of clothing and knick knacks, but this reinforces my feeling that things are breaking down.

We live in a low trust environment getting lower by the day. Plus with the thin veneer of society crumbling by the day, things will get progressively more dangerous.
Absolutely. Hubs is huge on this. While I love going to BTC conferences his thing is tactical training and firearm safety & legal course.
With us retiring in June he has started Ham radio courses and has settled on taking up Jujitsu as his new hobby.

Unfortunately this will continue.
My area has been hit for copper piping at house connections and catalytic converters. (Done at 3 in the morning in front of houses)
Some of this stops when neighborhoods organize and fight back.
I was thinking a storage unit would be a good place for a key?!😯
It might not be horrible it it was well hidden. These guys were in and out in less than 3 minutes. If there is good security then they don’t have time to look around.
Doc Susie, sure hate to hear this. Theft is a real problem these days. At least it’s not as personal as if they were at your house. Also glad they didn’t get your corn.

Thank you, but fortunately it was stuff that isn’t even worth filing a claim for. I’m thankful it wasn’t at our home though. We know several people who have had their homes broken into now.
