Natto was considered a acquired taste as per my experience when I lived in Japan. Either you loved it or hated it. But the Japanese insisted that its very good for your health. Guess they were on to something.

The flavor is faintly coffee to me, but it was the texture I found repellant until I got the tip to whip it up with an egg yolk. It becomes more foamy then slimy and now I eat it all the time. Everyone who has had the vaxx or a family history of strokes or clots should consider adding it to their diet.

Thoughts on the supplement versions?

I say better that not taking it at all in most situations, but natural sources of vitamins and minerals is always more beneficial. For example D3 produced by our body from sun exposure vs D3 supplementation. I think there is likely a physiological benefit from the conversion process.

What’s your favorite brand? I’m now interested

Of Natto? I get the ones on sale usually. My palate is not refined enough with natto to notice a difference in flavor. Just make sure to get one with a sauce packet, add japanese mustard or red pepper seasoning if its not enough flavor. My husband eats his with rice and seaweed because he doesn’t love the texture even with the egg.
