I do wonder what public spaces would look like without all this noise. I believe Brasilia had (has? Probably not) no outdoor advertising...?
How can you reconcile making freedom of speech unstoppable (with Nostr for instance) and making advertising illegal at the same time?
Is tracking everything people view on the Internet and using it to target them freedom of speech? I see you didn't read the article 😂

They don't appear to have a lightning address set up, and haven't received a zap since July of last year according to nostr.band. where did you find that lightning address? That is what they have as their nip05, not lightning.
Right in this case. So this is a nudge to set up a lightning address to receive zaps.
I agree with the sentiment but Im thinking of websites that use google ads and the like to monetize their content. I think we are so used to the WWW being free, that it would be difficult.

They can detect that.......I am very selective of websites now.....subscribing is the best way, but we need more ability to pay in Bitcoin.
Maybe, luckily I never have any problems with blocking ads. I'm free to modify the data on my computers & networks as I see fit, including not viewing things I find objectionable. If anything, blocking ad trackers is a sensible security precaution.
Same 🤝 All the devices connected to my home network cannot even resolve the IP addresses of advertising and tracking domains.
Fortunately legislation is not required to opt out if you care about such things.

I agree with your points about why those things are bad. I just don’t agree with gov’t having the authority to tell businesses they can’t advertise. I think companies can advertise without the tracking that exists rn. We should be simply not be put in jail or prosecuted for using tools that don’t allow us to be tracked.
