I think the secret key to #value4value is a relationship of trust and mutual respect. When that exists it’s almost like you start to try to “out give” each other, with the underlying value being exchanged in various ways. Sometimes it’s money and sometimes it’s other things or actions. But without that mutual respect for each other, then people start to simply try and take as much out of other people as they can without giving anything in return.

The principle that value is not necessarily a financial thing can’t be elevated enough. Time can be (and most often is) more valuable than money. An experience, a moment, a connection. Rich people spend ungodly amounts to find shit like that and can’t buy it.

To me, this is so obvious that its's inescapable. I don't understand how anyone could think that money or power or business standing are all that matter. I subscribe to the subjective theory of value. Value is not necessarily measured in money. The Austrians understand this.
