It seems like there is a Venezuelan gang running a muck in the Denver/Colorado Springs/Aurora area. They are robbing gun stores, acting like Amazon employees and kicking in doors when home owners open them for packages, extorting apartment tenants and occupying Target parking lots.

I’m not sure what’s real or not but because Venezuela doesn’t have extradition treaties with the US the country doesn’t have to disclose criminal history and gang affiliation when they cross the border so there’s nothing law enforcement can really do.

Whoa. First I'm hearing about this. Is CO considered a swing state?

I’m not sure. I know Denver is a sanctuary city and it’s being reported that they’ve accepted like 40,000 migrants since 2022. I’m not one to believe news reports and all that but I’m not seeing much conversation about it here… which makes me wonder what actually going on?

I love nostr because people don't get as wrapped up with the chaos, but I would also like to see some news from time to time.

It'll get here eventually. Hopefully first hand investigative stuff. That would be great.

Nothing law enforcement can do? This makes no sense.

Exactly. Apparently, one of the landlords for the apartment complexes that has been overrun and currently controlled by the gang went to local PD, FBI, and US Marshals. They said there was nothing they could do because the gangsters are protected under squatters rights law.

That sounds incredibly frustrating.

Dealing with a situation like that,

For me it is important for the authorities to find a way to address this issue and ensure the safety and well being of the community and property owners.
