I don't know. You're the former Fed. 😉 "National security" is basically CYA for the government, in my opinion. "If The People knew this, they would revolt, or at least their trust in US would be dangerously diminished."

Depending on the time between the information release …. Sensitive information typically doesn’t outweigh public knowledge as historical information. Ima little high and it’s been awhile. But does that make sense?

Yes there were some conditions. For example if it will have an impact on ongoing operations or foreign relations it could be omitted.

The second caveat provides a lot of flexibility around what is released.
