Considering attending my first Bitcoin conference but I'm worried it will be like an extended in-person podcast. What can I expect other than the scheduled talks and is it worth going?

Not in the UK, it's BTCHEL I'm thinking about. I've signed up for the Les Femmes Orange fringe event, but unsure about doing the full conference! Have you been to one before?
Re Femmes Orange, if Rachel Geyer is involved it will be excellent. Have been to Edinburgh because it was local, Atlantis in Madiera because my mates were going and it was mainstream enough to take my husband to; and Cape Town which I found disappointingly cliquey and precisely what you feared in terms of no real benefit over YouTube.
I just go to small, local meet-ups now.
