Bury the broken paddles about 1/3rd into the soil. Sometimes, I'll prop the remaining 2/3rds against the edge of the pot.

You might need to bring them indoors (or cover them) for winter, depending on how cold and/or wet it gets where you live.

The mother plant stays outside, of course. She’s survived some serious snow levels and freezes. I suspect it’s because she’s right against the house. But we are needing to do some work around, and paint the concrete blocks. I’d like to relocate her but have no idea how deep her roots are and just how to tackle it.
