Hey Plebs,

You mean the one thatβs full of shitcoins?
Yep.
My only concern is whether it's secure for temporary storage of bitcoin...π
However, I'll happily take better recommendations...π
I donβt know what you and your friend consider a significant amount, but you might want to have him look into getting a Trezor.
For shorter term (non-cold) storage, Iβd personally stay away from any wallets that arenβt bitcoin-only. BlueWallet is a good choice.
Thanks for the thoughtful suggestions!πππ
Bitbox (bitcoin only) or coldcard
And holds your private keys
I'd get a ledger. Put that shit in cold atorage and call it a day.
Thanks, that's in the plan for my friend, but getting one direct from the company takes a little time...π
I feel that. I like using mycelium, samurai, and Cake wallet. Cake is monero based but you can add a bitcoin wallet
I trusted my gut on this one and moved everything off my first hardware wallet (a ledger) a few months ago. Recommend the same. Bitbox or coldcard for me.
The coolest one that's Bitcoin only is Coldcard MK4 by coinkite. I like those Bitcoiner only compnies (have also signed up and got a ref link... although not sure if there is discount or if I'm collecting points?) It's the one I also use myself to generate stuff. Soliddddd
I appreciate the recommendation...
I've been using Ledgers, and haven't kept up with newer stuff...π
I would recommend Bitbox (bitcoin only) or Coldcard. That is it
Thanks muchly!
Speaking from experience. I own a ledger, coldcard, and bitbox. Would recommend bitbox to complete noobs if you arenβt going to walk them through it. Ledger, is probably secure and simple enough, but too many shitcoin vibes. Coldcard is more simple than people make it out, but would require a little more of a handhold for new users.
For price, ease of use, and being open sourceβ¦ Iβd say Jade for the noobs. Personally I think the COLDCARD MK4 is the best butβ¦ Iβm no noob π€·ββοΈ
The Jade is nice though. The camera is good, and doing basic things is super easy. Canβt beat that price too.
Hey, Plebs,
Here's a huge shout out and THANK YOU to all of you who took the time and effort to respond to my request. I got some very good and actionable information, and I appreciate it a lot!ππ«ππππ―
