I have a day off tomorrow, and I'm helping a friend get a wallet set up, and put some bitcoin in it!

We will be starting with a hot wallet, and plans to get a signing device soon. It will most likely be a Blockstream Jade. I plan on getting one as well, that way it will be much easier to help them get things figured out.

I'm thinking either Blue Wallet or Blockstream Green for the wallet. I'll let her try both, and see which she prefers. Any other wallets on iOS to consider? I'm an Android guy.

As for buying the bitcoin, I'm going to set her up on Bull Bitcoin. I have informed her of KYC requirements and limits, and she is looking into it herself today. We will set up the account depending on what way she decides to go. She has an accounting background, and other investments, it is her call.

I am pretty excited to have orange pilled my first friend! She is quite smart financially as well, which makes me feel good about my choice. I think the news lately, especially the institutional interest, helped push it over the edge.

I’d say those are the two best wallets on iOS

That's dope.

What about Bull Bitcoin's non-kyc option?

Either way, good work.

If going Bull Bitcoin it is not necessary to be KYC'd.

You can create an account with name and email only, then take your account QR to any Canada Post outlet to make a Loadhub payment wuth cash into your Bull account. (under $1000)

Don't enter phone number or anything more even if asked, they have different levels of accounts.

From Bull you can then buy BTC and send it via Lightning or on chain to wherever you want. (small amounts with Lightning, $100 minimum on chain)

Most of the time Canada Post workers don't know what Loadhub means so just show them the QR and say payment, they then get it.

I made a wallet card with my QR (it never changes) easier than logging in and showing phone IMO.

I use that way myself, and I advised her to do the same šŸ¤™

The Canada Post thing sounds good if you're there and can access it... What are the fees?

Best way is always Peer to peer if you can find someone selling:

Canada Post is highly accessible. Lots of tiny villages in the prairies with populations under 100 have a Canada Post that can handle these transactions. It's actually a pretty good service for Canadians, and the no KYC limits are decent. 1000 per transaction, 10000 per day.

Fee is $3.50 per transaction at Canada Post......worth it for non-KYC IMO.

Bull's fees are probably the most reasonable you can find too.

There is no better way in to buy BTC in Canada.

Fees as stated for Canada Post.

I do a $10 DCA to lightning. I end up with $9.90 in my wallet. Bull fees are very reasonable.

Show me a small tiwn anywherebin Canada with no Canada Post outlet and I'll show you another one close by that does have one. :)
