I remember a time when desktop email clients were all the rage. There were some really good one's. History doesn't repeat, but it certainly rhymes.

Zap bird.

I pine for Adobe Flash.

Been using thunderbird for 15 years.

Looks like an IDE. 😂

My take of a desktop email client. My first FOSS project!

The best form of automation. Opt-out of most systems.

Gives one the truest freedom and flexibility bc they aren’t spending so much time and energy chasing narratives.

I still use a desktop client and download all mails with pop3 - am i a dinosaur?

Yes, POP3 (and IMAP4) only support password based authentication.

We need to, instead, be using constrained and origin-bound credentials, like with FIDO2 keys

The Bat! Nostalgia...

tunderbrd baby

Most Fiat mines 💸⚒️ still use desktop apps like M$ Outlook.

Even in their digital program departments 😅👨‍💻

It's even worse today, you have to search where a conversation happened: M$ Outlook, Teams or Azure DevOps or SharePoint, you never know 🤣
