Agreed. Fiber & healthy starches in proportion are useful carbs. It’s the sugar carbs that kill.

Starches are polymers of glucose, they functionally metabolize identically to "sugar carbs", which are just dimers of a glucose and fructose molecule.
Fiber is an anti-nutrient undigestible carbohydrate whose only purpose seems to be to slow down the rate of glucose absorbtion. As such, fiber is completely redundant in a proper human diet.
