Replying to Running Man

If you go without cable for a week or so, then you turn on the TV and see some of these commercials that are airing....you'd think you lived on Mars or something.

The drug commercials are probably the most confusing. There is an Rx for every conceivable nuisance.

Left pinky itches on Tuesdays....Try blazay blah.

Then the disclaimer, if your left pinky is allergic to this drug, causes depression, gives you heart attacks or strokes, stop taking and visit your doctor immediately.

We haven’t had cable in 10 years, probably more. It definitely feels like that when we do end up seeing a commercial. And so many of them make me cringe when the kids are watching. We are pretty open about a lot of things but some things I would like to keep the questions to a minimum until they’re a little older

Good for you!

It's traumatic to me as an adult. I can't imagine how kids are processing it.

When I am without cable, I can't say I miss it or even think about it. Podcasts and audibles are just as entertaining and informative.

It is really traumatic now that you say it. For “wanting to help people” these commercials can easily make anxiety rise and it’s so unhealthy!

For sure. You don't notice how off-putting it is until you've been away from it for a period and return to it.
