Finally deleted Twitter yesterday and this nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe clip from the 4-hour #Bitcoin Infinity Day Special did it.

For the past several weeks, my bias has been to post here. And every time I went back to take a look, all I saw were things that the algorithm wanted me to see.

It remains to be seen what #Nostr means for humanity, but I do know for sure what it means for me. If I have a choice to plants the seeds of hope and positivity or the seeds of fear and outrage, I’m going to choose the former all day. 🤙

Nice!

I made it like this:

-Downloaded my Twitter archive

-sorted it oldest to newest

-searcher for evergreen tweets or content that is still worth sharing

-planned the post of this tweets here on nostr with nostrit.com

-works great

Cool! I didn’t even think to transfer tweets. 😄

Btw, is the audio in the video working for you?

You can reactivate your X account and still export the archive.

Nostrit.com is great for this.

Nope. The video is without audio. As it seems it is uploaded without audio.

On the screenshot it says "audio -none"

Yes this works great!

Oh dang, that’s unfortunate.

Hey nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 does the uploader only work with with .mov files when it comes to audio?

This is the second time I think this has happened, the common denominator being the files I uploaded were .mp4.

I didn’t notice at first but now I see that the output is .mov after uploading so my guess is some sort of conversion issue.

Let me know if you need more info. 🤙

It depends on the format of the video, we just upload exactly as it is. Often the format plays in your computer, but not on mobile or your app..

Maybe try a different format?

I did end up getting it to work by converting the file using InShot. 🤙

As for the archive, I think I’ll let it die haha (thanks anyway!)

Luckily for me, I was on the earlier side of building there. Respect to those with a bigger following that have left. 🫡

Is still have two one year left to go through but I already have notes planned for two months in advance.

Congrats!

I’m with you. Did it a few days ago. Better to focus on this platform and build a better society

LFG 🤝

Good job, Jeff.

🙏

I also would like to but did you somehow backup your tweets or interactions etc..?

I didn’t, but check out this thread for a tool that can help with that. 🤙

Here’s the video with working audio. Converting the original .mp4 to .mov before uploading to nostr.build did the trick. 🤙

I’ve been working myself up to it. The friction is that I’ve used it for my business. It’s hard to drop the algorithm created addiction.

Gradually, then suddenly. 🤙

"fear and outrage" is a perfect way of describing the Twitter / X platform.

something I have considered in the past - is the algo trained to intentionally create this experience, or is this a reflection of the users generating the data?

i worry it is the latter.

I guess we’ll never know, but I think it’s a little bit of both.

If users are making money from impressions and engagement, I think they are incentivized to post content that would stir the pot so to speak.

As for the algo, I think there’s a reason why there’s the “if it bleeds, it leads” adage. I consider Twitter the modern day television.

Life got much better for me after I stopped watching the news. I’m bullish that the same will be true for leaving Twitter. 🤙
