Damus iOS has never had a signer and people seem ok with it πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

The way notedeck is being built is that the chrome (microapp host) is the signer, and the apps will need permission from the user eventually

Basically just like how web browser signers work today

One of the design goals of damus android is that you won’t need external apps to have a secure and reliable experience (no pokey, citrine, amber, etc)

I don't feel comfortable putting my private keys into more than one app. You target new users so they might initially use their keys only with damus but then they will discover more nostr apps and have the same problem.

you are an advanced user. Most users will not even know about amber when they use nostr for the first time. Advanced users will likely just stick with amethyst anyways

Just wondering, have you tried amber before? There is a reason people ask for it; almost all the nostr apps you come across support bunker log-in, and i have had barely any issues.

If you dont have any experience with amber, it is perhaps hard to realize how fricking smooth of a Nostr experience it is trivially using various different apps.

There’s a survivorship bias here

The best solution is to make Damus Android a bunker signer. πŸ˜‚

I dig your on-boarding, it's cool. But I've never used my 'main' and always create a temp 'alt' coz no Amber (nsec seperation). Anyway, tried your latest, it seems fine πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, and have uninstalled it again. Not being 'anti'. It's a cool app and you're clearly a clever guy, but Damus Android is still way to iOS for my tastes. (Such an odd thing to say lol but it's true)

thanks for trying!

Good luck collecting useful feedback from newbies!

yep.

Im not using any nostr apps that don't support Amber.

I am ok, when there is an option for putting the nsec in the app directly. But without future Amber support Damus will be no option to me.

No matter the great features...
