Master copy/study of "Patroclus" by Jacques Louis David 1780.

Today at #AtelierArtista, l worked on the right glute, left calf and ankle, some shadows and details. I used a touch of bone black, lead white, french burnt umber, italian yellow earth, and a bit of sartorius red (#Rublev artist oil colours).

Looking great! I had a tool box just like that when I took oil painting classes many (many) years ago. Thanks for sharing- I haven’t thought of that in so long; fond memories.

I started off wanting to hone my drawing skills and ended up in oils. Who knew. 🤣

That's a solid cheek, well done.

roflmao

if you look at it before, it was round on the bottom but he has all his weight towards the back so the weight is on his right cheek so it has to be flat on the platform.

i removed some chroma to make that half if his bum sink further back.

1 000 000 little things to mess with.

thanks for taking a look.

Stunning. Just got into oil painting a few months ago and more than the technique I love that I can appreciate hard work when I see it. The proportions are great and I really like the reflected shading from the cloth. Is AtelierArtista your studio?

naw. It's my teacher's studio.
