As a former journo working for highly reputable UK broadsheets I’d disagree. BUT, agree that journalism, and fact checking, is not what it used to be. People need to learn to check multiple sources and not believe social media.
They are the mouth piece of the cathedral. While there are exceptions, the majority of them support the state without realizing they spread it's propaganda.
Real journalists would have leapt to release the Snowden leaks, asked follow up questions about Epstein's death, or investigate how Ghislaine Maxwell can be sentenced for child trafficking without knowing who she trafficked to.
