Why do you think that? De-duping problem?
i've always watched my follower counts on nostr.band. the day that primal launched follower counts, i they immediately had me at 80K+ when nostr.band had me around 12K or so. i spoke with nostr:npub16c0nh3dnadzqpm76uctf5hqhe2lny344zsmpm6feee9p5rdxaa9q586nvr at Nostrica about this and he seems to think that the numbers are not incorrect. 🤷♂️
in the grand scheme of things, follower counts don't mean all that much. it's a nice metric to watch to see more users using nostr if you've been here for a while, are constantly posting, then you know that your reach and range of engagement is growing.
Yeah it’s an interesting metric that shouldn’t be leaned on too much. Engagement with posts is more interesting to watch for.
Remember Nostr.band filters things through trust rank too. Throwaway accounts or accounts that went dormant without doing anything may be getting discarded in his count. It would also vary heavily based on how far back it queries relays, since it’s aggregating info from updated contact lists.
