What to do on really hot humid days when you’re sick of being inside but outside is miserable?
Discussion
Cold showers or ice bath maybe?
Water is coming in too hot for a cold shower. An ice bath is an option with some planning. I’m not actually hot until I go outside. Then the heat and humidity envelops you like a hot washcloth.
I am out of ideas lol. When I was in Death Valley on vacation I just spent my whole time in the cold swimming pool. 😂 too hot to anything else.
I drove past a deserted swimming pool. Don’t know if it’s closed on Sundays or everyone was like screw this it’s too hot. When I was a kid here. The neighborhood pool would literally put ice blocks in the pool in weather like this.
Go out to eat at a restaurant or to an indoor class (cooking, pottery, essential oil mixing, etc) 🙂🌞
cold showers and a light delicious tamato salad with vinegar and oil 🥰
So if you turn on nothing but the cold water faucet right now, the water is about as warm as a warm shower in the winter.
I find that cold showers are challenging, but they are effective
Yea, I did it in the past for several months (so cold as it can get out of the faucet, I would say 9-14°C).
And now I try to include it in my daily routine.
Actually I'm at 23°C so its a long way 😅
9-14degrees Celsius? Wow! That's cold. I shower at about 18-20 degrees Celsius and am already proud of it 😂
I try to end every shower with straight cold water. Love it. Feels like taking an anti inflammatory to me.
I’d probably have to use a chest freezer plugged in to get the water to the right temp or add a couple bags of ice to a tub.
If you just turn on the cold faucet right now I’d guess the water is in the upper 70-80 degree range.
About 26 degrees Celsius
Yes! Cold rinse for 30 seconds (hella long in winter I promise), is ideal, to close pores and feel refreshed after the torpor of the hot water. Supposedly increases adipose fat, idk how. Good luck now getting cool for anyone on city water. Our well is still chill, because it goes deep. We have to change our house water filter every 3 months.…
Nice. Even the lake I went to recently with an average depth of 125 ft. felt close to bath water temperature.
Free sauna/ steamy room outside right now though.
