Just found out that Zaps are a bit of a dead end for the note creator: Get some sats but not more attention to the note creator currently.

I think this should change on the client level:

Could we have notes in our client stream which get more than x sats Zaps and from people I follow, #[0] & #[1] ?

This. If zaps are the currency of Nostr, we should have a feed of the most zapped content, aside from a chronological feed. Help us find the value in the stream of consciousness.

Much smoother now! But how about fixing search? When I search it shows 1 day-old notes...

It's only a local search + relay search when you type full npubs and note IDs there.

Agree.

But Zapping my own note with another npub is easy and free.

Plus I don't agree that Zaps should be "the currency of nostr". Better not attach nostr to tight to bitcoin for the ones which don't get bitcoin or don't believe in bitcoin.

For sure. Zaps are not the only signal to filter out great content, but they are a very strong one. It has 2 factors, # of zaps, plus size of total. It will be useful for separating the wheat from the chaff.

Interesting idea to view notes prioritized by zaps (of those you follow) for a time period.

Would it be so hard to make it so all this is inputted by the user? Include some presets, but have an option for the user to do it themselves?

Most likes/Zaps/zap-value in X hours from all the people you follow and their boosts/quotes.

Also, boosts of the same thing should be combined into one note rather than all show individually in the feed 🙂

Zaps can be gamed. Profiles could have a Top zapped notes section where you can see that, but I wouldn’t want any note to be promoted on my feed because it got zaps.

Yes, but I exprssed myself unclear: Zaps don't provide more attentiin from the npubs which follow me, the Zapper of a note. Whereas reposting does.

Oh I see. So a kind of notification to your followers that you zapped note XYZ.

That makes sense.

Clients could indeed include oubound zaps from follows in the feed, just like reposts.
