Most men I know who subscribe to the “Happy wife, happy life” idea do not seem very happy.

Can’t be happy with a ball buster.
That and too often I see that “happy wife” means that the husband’s wants/needs are ignored.
They are realizing how much work and sacrifice "happy wife" takes.😆😆😆😆
Many men who say that are in relationships with Alpha (or at least controlling) females that have emasculated them.
💯 We were out to dinner with friends like this last night. The husband is a great cook, but we notice he never eats what he makes. He pushes it around on his plate and acts like he’s eating, yet at restaurants he eats voraciously. We figured out last night that he cooks his wife’s favorite meals at home and doesn’t care for Asian food himself.
Sounds about right.
I've always hated the phrase.
