Ok. Clear about coinos custodial and Alby non custodial.

I created an Alby account yesterday

and get a custom name address (with archjourney). I didn't want a subscription.

Usually i am Nostr from mobile.

So after I created my alby account I had to link an nwc wallet there (and I couldn't find an nwc string in the alby dashboard and settings).

If I understood correct there are three Alby things.

Alby Hub

Alby extension and

AlbyGo.

And you must subscribe for an nwc Alby

OR I must link there another nwc.

There are 4 things:

Alby Hub -> self custodial wallet: you can self host for free or host in Alby Cloud by paying Alby the subscription

Alby extension -> it can be connected to your Alby Hub and Web Account and hodl your nostr nsec keys safely

AlbyGo. -> it is a wallet interface, can manage wallets with nwc

Alby web Account -> gives you a free lightning address

In Alby, you can only generate a nwc from the Alby Hub. You can paste that nwc on Alby Go, so you can manage your Alby Hub from your Alby Go.

In coinos, you can generate a nwc, and paste it on Alby Go, to manage your coinos wallet from your mobile. You can also past that same coinos nwc on Alby web Account, and you would benefit from the Alby lightning address as well ( if you wish to do so )

Soo there is also this Alby web account.. didn't knew this. At the end I connected my coinos nwc to AlbyGo. And in reality I didn't need AlbyHub (at least for now). Thank you very much jpl! Even clearer now. 👌

You will need Alby Hub when you will need to host your funds in a self-custodial way. Alby will be waiting for you when the time is right for you and when you will need that.
