Don’t do it on a raspberry pi, if you have another device like an old laptop or old pc.
The only positive on raspberry pi is low power consumption. It will take forever to sync the blockchain.
I used start 9 for a while, now I’m using Linux and managing applications myself.
I prefer start 9 but there is not huge difference
Thinking on doing the same science my last umbrel+rpi5 imploded. Maybe ill try with start9 but they dont recomend to run node sotfware on a pi
I read all the info about not running a node on a raspberry after purchasing everything so I’m doing it anyway.
It’s downloading the block chain rn, it looks like it will take about 5 days.
We’ll see 🤷🏻♂️
Nice. Umbrel or StartOS?
StartOS.
The bad thing it’s they don’t offer Knots on their marketplace.
So I’ll have to migrate manually later.
I didnt know that either. Hope it works great for you🤙
It’s easy to switch to knots. It just installs overtop of core.
You may need to activate developer mode.
The whole process only takes a few minutes.
I’m really bad at this kind of stuff, so I know I’ll struggle anyway 🥲
Stop bitcoin core.
Go to system and click the “MANAGE” heading 5 times. That activates developer mode.
Go to market place. Switch to community registry. Find knots. Click install.
Click the MANAGE 5 times again to turn off dev mode.
Start knots.
Take a nap.
