Can I build Graphene OS or Calyx on an old Samsung S7?

You won't be able to use graphene, it only works for pixel phones.

That is so weird to me. Kind of surprised people talk it up so much when it’s a pixel specific thing.

Its very good as an OS, its basically stock android in terns of user experience, and I feel comfortable knowing I have a very minimal cross section to state surveillance.

Turns out Samsung locked the boot loader on the US S7. No custom ROMs 🤦‍♂️

i wonder if there are bootloader unlocking instructions for that model on xda somewhere?

Looks like many have tried with no success. Guess I’ll just do a factory reset and disable all the google/Samsung apps for now
