2600 years ago Shakyamuni Buddha started doing it and all Zen students and teachers continue that. no luxury at all. I've known people who do this my entire life a d met new ones even recently.

responding to what i said about leaking by projecting on me is trying to clean mud with mud. leaking was Dōgen's word for what is now called psychological projection.
